How We Can Help You Complete an FFL Transfer
At Punisher Built, we make the process of transferring firearms smooth, easy, and fully compliant with federal and state regulations. Whether you're purchasing a firearm online or from a private seller, we are here to assist with all the legal steps required for a safe and legal transfer.
Here’s How Our FFL Transfer Process Works:
1. Step 1: Contact Us to Begin the Transfer
- Let us know your needs: Whether you are the buyer or the seller, simply reach out to us to begin the transfer process. We’ll guide you through the necessary steps to ensure everything goes smoothly.
- Provide us with the details: Share the details of the firearm, the seller’s FFL information, or your purchasing information (for online purchases).
2. Step 2: Send the Firearm to Us (If You're the Seller)
- For Sellers: If you're selling the firearm to a buyer who will be using our services, ship the firearm directly to our FFL location. We will handle the transfer to the buyer once it arrives.
- For Buyers: If you're purchasing online or from a private seller, the firearm will need to be shipped to us. Make sure to give the seller our FFL details.
3. Step 3: Complete the Required Paperwork
- When the firearm arrives at our store, we’ll have you complete ATF Form 4473. This form collects personal information and confirms eligibility to own a firearm. Don’t worry—we'll walk you through every detail to ensure it’s filled out properly.
- We will also verify your identification to ensure everything is in order.
4. Step 4: Background Check
- We will run a background check through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS). This is a quick process to confirm that you meet all the legal requirements for purchasing and possessing a firearm.
- If there are no issues, you’ll be approved for the transfer!
5. Step 5: Pay the Transfer Fee
- Our transfer fee covers the paperwork, background check, and handling of the firearm. Fees vary but are generally in the range of $35 to $50 depending on the number of firearms being transferred. We’ll let you know the exact cost before you commit.
6. Step 6: Pick Up Your Firearm
- Once the background check is approved and the paperwork is finalized, you can pick up your firearm from us.
- We’ll go over any final instructions or local regulations that you may need to know before taking your new firearm home.
