Gun Laws: Because Criminals Totally Obey Signs and Paperwork

The bad news here, this article is likely to piss people off. The good news for us is…….we don’t care. So you’re telling me that another gun law is going to stop a criminal? That’s adorable. Nothing screams “effective crime deterrent” like a “No Guns Allowed” sign taped to a gas station door, right?

Here’s a wild idea: maybe—just maybe—good people with guns are the reason the body count isn’t higher in some very real situations. Let’s dive into reality (something anti-gunners seem allergic to) and look at a few times when gun ownership actually saved lives.

1. West Virginia Mom Drops Mass Shooter with One Shot (2022)

A lunatic opened fire at a graduation party in Charleston, WV. But his rampage was cut short—very short—when a lawfully armed woman shot him dead before anyone else was hurt.

But sure, let’s talk about banning the tool she used to save dozens of people. Genius.

2. Texas Church Shooting Stopped in 6 Seconds (2019)

would-be mass shooter pulled a shotgun during a church service. Within 6 seconds, an armed churchgoer ended the threat with a single shot to the head. Six seconds.

Imagine if everyone had just prayed harder. Or called 911 and waited 12 minutes.

3. Indiana Armed Citizen Stops Mall Shooter (2022)

When a man began shooting at a mall in Indiana (yes, the one with the dreaded “gun-free zone” signs), a 22-year-old carrying legally shot him before police could even get there.

Don’t worry, I’m sure the sign was about to jump off the wall and tackle the shooter.

But… What About All the Gun Violence?

Ah yes, the favorite talking point of every latte-sipping anti-gunner who can’t tell a Glock from a garden hose. Of course we want fewer deaths—but banning the very tool that stops mass shootings is like banning fire extinguishers because fires still happen.

Why Gun Laws Don’t Work (For People Who Actually Read Statistics)

Criminals, by definition, don’t follow laws. The War on Drugs didn’t stop drug use. Speed limits don’t stop speeding. But somehow, adding “one more” gun restriction is going to stop hardened criminals? Cool story.

Spoiler alert: The CDC found hundreds of thousands of defensive gun uses per year. They quietly buried the data, but hey—nothing to see here!

Conclusion: Gun Laws Make You Feel Safe, Not Be Safe

At the end of the day, gun control is feel-good legislation for people who don’t want to deal with the ugly truth: evil exists, and it doesn’t care about your laws. The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy (or gal) with a gun.

So keep your signs, your bans, and your hashtags. We’ll keep our freedom—and our firepower.
